Ralph Wood Long-Face
with raised cup toby jug. Circa 1785. It's not very
often that a toby appears with no restorations but this
super toby is just one of those models. Absolutely in crisp
clean condition and worthy of our connoisseur status. Toby's
coat is an unusual dark grey colour, peppered in cobalt
and manganese fragments, his face well defined with thick
bushy eyebrows that give some Ralph Wood models a very distinct
appeal. Wearing buckles on his shoes & holding a three
quarters filled jug, the under base has been left unglazed.
If you are seeking good quality with no restorations then
look no further as this is a wonderful jug.
Height. 10.25 inches.
Condition. No restorations.

Please note: If
you purchase a toby jug from any dealer make sure the photographs
provided are of sufficient large size so you are able to
see the quality of the glaze finish you are purchasing.
The light reflects in the translucent glaze of Toby's coat
photographed and the pearlware colour on the face and hands
shows a clean body.
